"The Zentrum Paul Klee is pleased to integrate the Young Piano Series Bern, a new series for the promotion of young pianists into the existing program of the Zentrum Paul Klee as a successor to the earlier series of the Bernese Chopin Society. We wish the Young Piano Series Bern good luck and look forward to the new cooperation!"

Our philosophy

"Young Piano Series" was created with the aim of practicing sustainable promotion of young pianists and thereby taking responsibility for the classical music of tomorrow. We see ourselves a platform for mediation between young international artists and the local audience. Between these two poles we would like to enable an extended space of communication, where artist and audience are able to meet on different levels. In this way, we seek to reach and touch a diverse audience.

In our first season, we explore contemporary selection processes: Who has the right to decide who gets a stage? To do this, we explore three approaches: The soloist of the first concert is chosen by the local audience itself, the second by an international jury and the third through an open call.

Experience this season’s three soloists:

Sa, 28 October 2023

Eva Gevorgyan

Winner of the "Prix du Piano Bern" 2023

Sa, 13 January 2024

Magdalene Ho

Winner of the Concours Clara Haskil 2023

Sa, 6 April 2024

Simon Bürki

Winner of the Open Call
